Natural body oils and sweat can be a big contribution to gold tarnishing, whilst we know this is unavoidable, if you know you have very oily skin, we suggest choosing our Sterling Silver jewellery so your piece will last you forever. You can also remove your jewellery when you feel your skin starting to sweat or produce oil to protect it. Remove before showering, swimming, washing dishes, or exercising. Water, chlorine, saltwater, and sweat can all accelerate fading and reduce the life of the plating.

Can sterling silver tarnish?
Sterling silver naturally reacts with sulphur and moisture in the air, causing a darkened layer known as tarnish. This is completely normal and does not mean your jewellery is damaged. With regular cleaning and proper storage, tarnish can be easily managed, keeping your jewellery looking its best.
